New study tests home workouts to fight muscle loss from hormone therapy
NCT ID NCT07400419
Summary
This study is testing whether a 12-week home resistance exercise program can help transgender women and gender-diverse people maintain muscle mass and strength when starting estrogen-based hormone therapy. Researchers will compare 60 participants doing the exercise program to those receiving only general health advice. The goal is to see if exercise can prevent muscle loss that sometimes occurs with this type of hormone therapy and potentially improve how people feel about their gender expression.
