Home workouts tested to fight muscle wasting in kidney patients

NCT ID NCT02923063

Summary

This study tested whether a personalized home exercise program could improve muscle health in people with moderate-to-severe chronic kidney disease who aren't on dialysis. Researchers compared a combination of strength and aerobic exercises against general health education in 32 sedentary participants. They measured whether exercise could improve how muscles produce energy and enhance physical function in this population.
