Sweat to sense danger: home workouts aim to restore critical Low-Sugar alarms
NCT ID NCT04825366
Summary
This study tested if adding a 12-week home high-intensity interval training program to standard education could help adults with type 1 diabetes regain their ability to feel the early warning signs of dangerously low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). Forty-seven participants, who had lost this awareness, were randomly assigned to receive either the education alone or the education plus the exercise program. The goal was to see if the physical training could restore this critical safety sense better than learning about the condition alone.
