Walking away from dementia: exercise tested as brain shield for seniors after depression
NCT ID NCT04670510
Summary
This study tested whether aerobic exercise could improve brain health and thinking skills in older adults whose late-life depression was in remission. Researchers enrolled 46 participants aged 60+ to compare a 6-month aerobic exercise program with a stretching program. The goal was to see if exercise could help protect against cognitive decline and reduce the high risk of dementia in this vulnerable group.
