First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether a twice-weekly exercise program can improve sleep quality in people who had a stroke at least a year ago and currently have poor sleep. 62 participants aged 55 and older will take part in 60-minute classes over 6 months. The goal is to see if exercise can help them fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and improve overall health.

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
Multimodal exercise program
What this could lead to
If it works, this could provide a simple, drug-free way to improve sleep and reduce health risks in stroke survivors.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study with only 62 participants. The exercise program may not improve sleep for everyone, and results may not apply to all stroke survivors.
