Could exercise actually repair damaged lungs? new study investigates
NCT ID NCT07343375
Summary
This study aims to see if a specific, intense exercise program can trigger the lungs to repair themselves in people with severe COPD who are waiting for lung surgery. Researchers will compare 24 patients doing the exercise program to a group that does not exercise, measuring changes in lung tissue and blood. The main goal is to understand *how* exercise might help the lungs, not just the symptoms, which could change how COPD is managed.
