New exercise MRI could unmask hidden heart failure

NCT ID NCT07401771

First seen Feb 23, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tests a new, noninvasive exercise MRI technique to better diagnose and understand heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), a condition where the heart pumps normally but still fails. Researchers will enroll 400 people, including those with HFpEF, those with shortness of breath from other causes, and healthy volunteers. The goal is to see if this imaging method can identify who has HFpEF and predict their risk of hospitalization or death.
