First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a program of physical exercise and breathing exercises before and after weight-loss (bariatric) surgery can help patients recover faster, have fewer complications, and improve their overall health. About 132 adults on the waiting list for surgery will be split into two groups: one that follows the exercise program plus standard care, and one that receives standard care alone. The goal is to see if the program reduces hospital stays, eases recovery, and even affects how genes work in the body.
