Brain zap + workout trial aims to sharpen minds in severe schizophrenia

NCT ID NCT07404319

Summary

This study is testing whether aerobic exercise and a gentle, non-invasive brain stimulation technique (tDCS) can help improve memory, attention, and other thinking skills in people with schizophrenia that hasn't responded well to standard medications. 160 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either exercise, brain stimulation, both, or a control activity over 6 weeks. The main goal is to see if these approaches can reduce the cognitive difficulties that are a major source of disability in this condition.
