Can your Pre-Surgery walks protect your brain?

NCT ID NCT07424170

Summary

This study aims to understand if a person's daily activity level and a protein called irisin are linked to post-surgery delirium (a temporary state of confusion) in adults 65 and older. Researchers will observe 140 patients having certain types of surgery, measuring irisin levels and tracking confusion for five days after the operation. The goal is to learn how exercise might protect the brain, not to test a new treatment.
