Scientists probe why exercise is harder for people with down syndrome
NCT ID NCT04854122
Summary
This study aimed to understand why people with Down syndrome often have very low fitness levels. Researchers tested whether a 12-week supervised exercise program could improve how the body regulates blood flow to the heart and muscles during activity. They measured changes in fitness, walking, balance, and heart function in 60 generally healthy but sedentary adults with Down syndrome.
