First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study looks at whether different levels of exercise (light, moderate, or high intensity) can help people with PTSD better remember safety cues after fear learning. 200 adults with PTSD will complete a 3-day brain imaging task and be randomly assigned to rest or 30 minutes of exercise. The goal is to see if exercise strengthens fear extinction, which could improve exposure therapy outcomes.
