Pumping iron to slow aging: new study targets psychosis patients
NCT ID NCT07207538
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a 12-week strength training program can help slow down premature aging in 40 young adults (ages 18-35) who have had a first episode of psychosis. Researchers will measure telomere length (a marker of cellular aging) and other health indicators. The goal is to see if adding exercise to standard care can improve overall health and reduce the life expectancy gap seen in this population.
