Scientists test if lifting weights can turn back the clock for young psychosis patients

NCT ID NCT07207538

Summary

This study is testing whether a 12-week strength training program can help slow down signs of premature aging in young adults (ages 18-35) who have recently experienced their first psychotic episode. Researchers will compare standard treatment alone to standard treatment plus exercise, measuring changes in biological markers of aging like telomere length and inflammation. The goal is to see if adding exercise to care can improve long-term health and quality of life for these patients.
