First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to treat movement problems in Parkinson's disease using focused sound waves (ExAblate) to target a small area in the brain. 36 people with Parkinson's took part, and some received the real treatment while others had a fake (sham) procedure. The goal was to see if the sound wave treatment could safely improve symptoms like tremors and stiffness on one side of the body.
