Summary
This study tested a new way to treat movement problems in Parkinson's disease using focused sound waves (ExAblate) to target a small area in the brain. Thirty-six adults with Parkinson's whose symptoms were not well controlled on one side of the body received either the real treatment or a sham (fake) procedure. The goal was to see if the treatment could improve motor symptoms like tremor and stiffness without major side effects.
