High-Dose chemo tested for rare, aggressive bone cancer in kids and adults

Summary

This study tested an intensive chemotherapy treatment for Ewing sarcoma, a rare bone cancer, in patients aged 2 to 50 whose cancer had already spread to bones or bone marrow at diagnosis. The goal was to see if a strong initial chemotherapy regimen could help more patients become eligible for a final, high-dose chemotherapy treatment with stem cell support. The trial enrolled 45 participants to measure survival rates and how well the cancer responded to this aggressive approach.
