Summary
This study looked at gene activity in the uterine lining during menstruation to understand why humans have periods while some other primates do not. Researchers collected menstrual fluid from 21 healthy women using a silicone cup. The goal was to learn more about the evolution and biology of menstruation, not to test a treatment.
