New Brain-Targeting drug tested for stubborn seizures

NCT ID NCT07095933

Summary

This small, early-stage study is testing whether adding the drug everolimus to a person's current anti-seizure medications can help reduce seizure frequency in adults with focal epilepsy that doesn't respond well to standard drugs. The idea is based on research suggesting everolimus might interfere with how the brain 'remembers' seizure patterns. Researchers will measure changes in seizure frequency and severity over a 12-week period to see if this approach is safe and helpful.
