New stent offers hope for cancer patients with blocked bile ducts

Summary

This study tests a new type of stent (a small tube) placed using an endoscope to drain bile from the liver into the stomach in people with bile duct blockage caused by cancer. The procedure is for patients who cannot have standard ERCP drainage. The goal is to see if the stent is safe and works well to relieve jaundice and other symptoms. About 20 adults will take part.
