NCT ID NCT05893511

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tests whether a procedure called endoscopic ultrasound-guided gallbladder drainage (EUS-GBD) is better than starting with antibiotics for people with mild to moderate gallbladder inflammation who are too high-risk for surgery. About 110 very high-risk patients will be randomly assigned to receive either the drainage procedure or antibiotics first. The main goal is to see which approach reduces the chance of another gallbladder attack within one year.
