First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study compares a new absorbent pad called ETHIZIA to a standard pad (SURGICEL) for controlling mild to moderate bleeding during open surgeries like abdominal or chest procedures. About 108 adults will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two pads during their operation. The main goal is to see if ETHIZIA stops bleeding within 3 minutes and keeps it stopped for at least 10 minutes, without causing more side effects.
