Scientists test shot to stop Vacation-Ruining diarrhea

NCT ID NCT06692907

Summary

This study is testing a new vaccine designed to prevent severe diarrhea caused by a common bacteria (ETEC) often linked to traveler's diarrhea. About 72 healthy adults will receive either the vaccine or a placebo shot, then be intentionally exposed to the bacteria to see if the vaccine protects them. The main goals are to see if the vaccine is safe and if it can stop people from getting moderate-to-severe diarrhea after exposure.
