Estrogen replacement may shield hearts of women with premature ovarian failure

NCT ID NCT06866119

First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study looks at whether 6 months of estrogen replacement therapy can improve heart health in women with primary ovarian insufficiency (POI), a condition that causes early menopause. Researchers will measure blood vessel function and metabolic markers in 45 women aged 30-40 before and after treatment, comparing them to healthy women without POI. The goal is to gather stronger evidence for using estrogen therapy to prevent heart problems in this group.
