Summary

This study tested whether taking estrogen pills alongside prolonged exposure therapy (a type of talk therapy) can improve PTSD symptoms in women. 83 women with PTSD took part. They were randomly assigned to receive either estrogen or a placebo with their therapy sessions. The goal was to see if estrogen helps the brain respond better to treatment.
