First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tests whether estradiol (estrogen) patches can improve healing and reduce pain after rotator cuff surgery in postmenopausal women. About 58 women aged 50-80 will receive either estradiol or placebo patches for a short time after their operation. The goal is to see if this hormone helps shoulder strength, muscle size, and daily function.
