New hope for steady hands: major trial tests promising tremor drug

NCT ID NCT06087276

Summary

This large, late-stage study aims to find out if a new drug called ulixacaltamide is safe and effective for controlling essential tremor, a condition that causes shaky hands. About 1,000 adults with essential tremor will participate in different parts of the study, some receiving the drug and others a placebo, to see if it helps them perform daily tasks better. The main goal is to see if the drug reduces tremor impact on activities like eating and writing over 8 weeks, with some participants eligible for longer-term safety monitoring.
