NCT ID NCT03312686

First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This small pilot study looks at whether treating inflammation in the esophagus with proton pump inhibitors (acid-reducing drugs) improves its ability to stretch and move. Ten people with eosinophilic esophagitis will have their esophagus flexibility measured before and after treatment. The goal is to understand how inflammation affects the entire esophagus, not just the lower part.
