Cancer surgery timing breakthrough: longer wait may mean better results

NCT ID NCT02415101

Summary

This study tested whether waiting longer after completing chemotherapy and radiation before esophageal cancer surgery leads to better outcomes. Researchers compared surgery at 4-6 weeks versus 10-12 weeks after treatment ended in 202 patients. The goal was to see if the longer wait time helps the body respond better to treatment and reduces surgery complications.
