Head-to-Head cancer chemo trial seeks best Pre-Surgery mix

NCT ID NCT02359968

Summary

This study aimed to find out which of two standard chemotherapy combinations works better when given with radiation before surgery for operable esophageal or gastro-esophageal junction cancer. It randomly assigned 106 patients to receive either the FOLFOX regimen or the CarboP-pacliT regimen, followed by the same radiation treatment and then surgery. The main goals were to see which treatment led to more complete tumor removals and had fewer serious complications after surgery.
