Heartburn drug trial offers new hope for autism social skills

Summary
This study is testing whether esomeprazole, a common heartburn medication, might help improve social communication skills in young children with autism. Researchers will give the drug to 25 children aged 2-6 with autism for 12 weeks to see if it makes a difference. The goal is to see if this safe, existing medication could help with core autism symptoms like social interaction difficulties.
