New hope for stubborn depression in seniors: nasal spray vs. pill in major trial

NCT ID NCT07153406

Summary

This study aims to see if a nasal spray (esketamine) or a pill (aripiprazole) works better for older adults whose depression hasn't improved with standard antidepressants. It will involve 220 people aged 60-74 who have tried at least three different antidepressant treatments without success. Researchers will measure which treatment helps reduce depression symptoms more effectively over 8 weeks.
