First seen Mar 21, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times

Summary

This study tests a new device called the eShunt, which is placed using a small tube through a blood vessel to drain extra fluid from around the brain into the bloodstream. It is for adults with a type of fluid buildup (communicating hydrocephalus) after a brain bleed. The goal is to see if it safely lowers pressure in the brain and avoids the need for a traditional shunt surgery.
