New brain implant offers hope for hydrocephalus patients

NCT ID NCT04758611

Summary

This study is testing a new, minimally invasive device called the eShunt System for people with communicating hydrocephalus after a brain bleed. The device is designed to drain excess fluid from the brain into the bloodstream, potentially avoiding the need for more invasive traditional brain surgery. Researchers will check if it safely lowers brain pressure and helps patients avoid needing a conventional shunt.
