First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 19 times
Summary
This study measures the physical forces on gastroenterologists while they perform endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), a long procedure to remove early-stage digestive cancers. The goal is to understand why many endoscopists develop muscle and joint pain, such as carpal tunnel syndrome. Ten doctors will have their muscle angles tracked during ESD to identify risky movements and improve workplace safety.
