First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looks at how two common sweeteners, erythritol and aspartame, affect blood clotting and blood vessel inflammation. Twenty-four adults with a BMI of 27 or higher will drink beverages sweetened with each sweetener for two weeks, in a random order. The goal is to see if erythritol changes platelet activity or blood vessel markers compared to aspartame.
