Can a simple training program ease back and neck pain for healthcare workers?

NCT ID NCT07447219

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether an educational program on ergonomics—covering proper posture, stretching, and work habits—can reduce work-related muscle and joint pain in dental healthcare workers in Dubai government hospitals. About 110 workers will be split into two groups: one receives the program, the other continues usual care. Researchers will measure pain, mental health, and physical activity before, right after, and three months after the program to see if it helps.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

educational ergonomics intervention program

What this could lead to

If successful, this program could provide a simple, low-cost way to reduce common muscle and joint pain among healthcare workers, potentially improving their comfort and productivity.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early-stage study with only 110 participants, so results may not apply to all workers. The program relies on self-reported pain, which can be subjective, and long-term benefits are not yet proven.
