First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tests whether a numbing injection (erector spinae plane block) given before lumbar spine fusion surgery can better control pain and reduce the need for pain medication. About 32 adults having back fusion will receive the injection plus a contrast dye to see where the medicine spreads. Researchers will track pain scores and recovery quality for four days after surgery.
