New pill aims to calm the fire in COPD lungs

NCT ID NCT07329946

Summary

This study is testing if adding a pill called erdosteine to standard COPD inhaler therapy can help control the disease by reducing harmful inflammation and oxidative stress in the lungs. It will involve 30 adults with moderate to severe COPD who are already on stable inhaler treatment. Researchers will compare those taking the pill plus their inhalers to those using inhalers alone for four weeks, looking at blood markers and symptoms.
