Doctors test two rescue methods for tricky bile duct procedures

NCT ID NCT07329803

Summary

This study compares two backup techniques doctors use when standard methods fail to access the bile duct during ERCP procedures. Researchers will enroll 840 patients who need ERCP for conditions like gallstones or bile duct blockages. The trial aims to determine which technique—making a small cut or using a double-wire approach—is safer and more successful at reaching the bile duct while minimizing complications.
