First seen Jan 16, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether therapy using horses can improve movement, posture, breathing, and quality of life in children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). Twenty children aged 2 to 9 will receive both horse-assisted physiotherapy and standard physiotherapy in random order. The goal is to see if the horse's rhythmic movement helps trigger natural muscle responses and reduce fatigue.
