New drug hopes to tame rare seizure disorder in kids and adults

Summary
This study tests an experimental drug called EPX-100 (clemizole hydrochloride) as an add-on treatment for people with Dravet syndrome, a rare and severe form of epilepsy. About 150 children and adults aged 2 and older will receive either the drug or a placebo for 20 weeks. The main goal is to see if EPX-100 can safely reduce the number of motor seizures compared to a placebo.
