Could a simple epinephrine wash replace the tourniquet in ankle surgery?
NCT ID NCT07349407
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study compares two methods to keep the surgical area clear during ankle arthroscopy: using a dilute epinephrine solution versus a traditional tourniquet. About 88 people with chronic ankle instability or ligament injuries will take part. The goal is to see if the epinephrine method provides a clear view for the surgeon while possibly reducing pain and side effects after surgery.
