Brain scans and blood tests may reveal who benefits from epilepsy heat therapy
NCT ID NCT07399327
Summary
This study aims to understand why a heat treatment for drug-resistant epilepsy works well for some patients but not others. Researchers will follow 45 patients who are already scheduled to receive the heat treatment, which is delivered through brain electrodes. They will use advanced brain scans and blood tests to look for signs that can predict who will have fewer seizures after the procedure, with the goal of helping doctors make better treatment decisions in the future.
