First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked for bacteria in the spine and bones of 200 people with chronic low back pain who were having surgery. Researchers collected tissue samples during surgery and used special genetic tests to find bacteria. The goal was to understand if bacteria play a role in back pain and bone changes, not to test a new treatment.
