Can a pill make cancer radiation more effective? new trial aims to find out.

NCT ID NCT05178693

First seen Nov 25, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This early-stage trial tests whether giving an oral drug (ASTX727) before standard Lutathera treatment can help the radiation reach more cancer cells in people with metastatic neuroendocrine tumors. About 27 adults will take ASTX727 for 5 days, then receive Lutathera on day 8. The study uses special PET scans to see if the drug reactivates a receptor that Lutathera targets. The goal is to improve treatment response and quality of life.
