Spinal block may beat general anesthesia for kidney surgery

NCT ID NCT04546230

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether using epidural anesthesia (a numbing shot in the back) instead of general anesthesia (being put to sleep) can improve patient satisfaction and safety during laparoscopic kidney removal. About 80 adults scheduled for this surgery will take part. The goal is to see if the epidural approach reduces pain and complications while keeping patients comfortable.
