New pressure check could replace x-rays for epidurals

NCT ID NCT07217457

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple pressure measurement can work as well as an X-ray machine to confirm that an epidural needle is in the right spot. Researchers will test both methods on 160 adults getting planned surgery with an epidural. The goal is to find a cheaper, more accessible way for doctors to be sure the needle is placed correctly, especially where X-ray machines aren't available.
