New epidural timing could cut breakthrough pain in labor for experienced moms
NCT ID NCT06580327
First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether giving epidural pain medicine in programmed, hourly boluses (instead of a continuous drip) reduces sudden breakthrough pain during labor. About 186 women who have given birth before will be randomly assigned to one of the two methods. The goal is to see which approach keeps pain scores lower and reduces the need for extra pain relief.
