New study to track blood pressure drops after labor epidurals and impact on babies

NCT ID NCT07272018

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study will observe 480 adults giving birth at term who choose an epidural for pain relief. Researchers will review routine medical records to see how often blood pressure drops within 30 minutes after the epidural, how often treatment is needed, and whether the baby's heart rate changes. The study does not change standard care and aims to better understand these common events.
